The Eqilens Method
The Eqilens process may be able to bring you relief through the provision of customised specialist tinted filters.
The human eye has seven million photoreceptors on the retina called cones which detect colour entering the eye, and one hundred million rods which allow vision in low light conditions. These photoreceptors send signals of the perceived colour and extent of light to the brain via the optic nerve. Visual stress can occur when this process does not work exactly as it should, whether that be with select cones, rods, the nerve endings, the main optic nerve or how the information is received in the brain.
A particular problem is an inability to cope with artificial lighting, the contrast created by text on bright white paper and computer screens. The Eqilens method provides specific individually unique coloured Eqilens filters which moderate the frequency and intensity of light entering the eye.
In this way symptoms of visual stress, eyestrain, discomfort, headaches, migraine, tiredness and inefficient reading can be reduced or eliminated.
Working together, the Examiner and client determine the exact combination of coloured filters which help to neutralize the client’s symptoms of visual stress, inefficient reading, including eyestrain and discomfort, tiredness, headache and migraine. The Eqilens process takes around an hour.
Following the examination, the filter information is then passed to our Eqilens specialist optical laboratory where we are able to manufacture high quality lenses to exact specifications, incorporating the carefully selected light filter, cancelling out the visible wavelengths of light from the electromagnetic spectrum that are contributing toward the client’s visual stress. The Eqilens method has been developed through years of research and experience in the field of visual stress.
